Evert-Gerard Rautenbach has a successful day job at the Lynx Winery in Franschhoek in the Western Cape. As a side hobby project, Evert makes a small amount of experimental single cultivar Marsanne sourced from a vineyard in Wellington. On a recent visit to Franschhoek, Evert gave me a bottle of the 2025 Marsanne to try, noting that while this vintage is almost sold out, he is even more excited by the quality and styling of the 2026 vintage. As always, I love to champion new wines and young talented winemakers, and Evert is certainly a name to keep an eye on. #finewinesafari @evertrautenbach The maiden vintage of @bubblesferreira drinking incredibly well. A solid 96/100 GSMW from a #finewinesafari. This is up there with the best Cap Classiques produced in South Africa! #capclassique #mcc #pieterferreira @rakq.uk Sexy new red field blend from @riebeekvalleywineco that’s super fresh, complex and juicy while still being quite serious. It’s a must try new addition from the Swartland. @wosa_za #swartland #redfieldblend The excellent new vintages from @winshaw_vineyards rated and reviewed. Top notch as always. @museumwines The full Raar 2025 new release range reviewed in the #finewinesafari … Some of the Swartland’s best value whites and reds. #swartlandwines @riebeekvalleywineco @swartlandindependentproducers @swartlandrev @swartlandwineandolives @shereenothnagel The delicious new @sakkie_mouton_family_wines Full On Misfit 2024 white blend reviewed on the #finewinesafari 🍷 #weskus #cheninblanc #whiteblend #koekenaap https://www.instagram.com/p/DaBKqN0M1lm/ Some impressive new releases from @kanonkopwineestate rated and reviewed. www.gregsherwoodmw.com The 2023 vintage had its challenges but the Paul Sauer stands as one of the wines of the vintage. 🍷🇿🇦 #finewinesafari A couple of cracking wines served at a charity dinner last night in Richmond. Michel Gros 2005, Fevre 2005, Saint Joseph 1994 and Cos d’Estournel 2000. All beautiful. #finewinesafari
